Quadrupole ICP-MS
Low detection limits and multi-element capability has increasingly made ICP-MS a useful tool in a wide-range of environmental, medical, geological, biological, forensic, and archaeological studies. ICP-MS instruments with quadrupole-based mass analyzers are the most common because of their relatively low cost, rapid scanning ability, and robustness. The rapid scanning nature of the technique makes it particularly suitable for analysis of transient signals, which can be produced from laser ablation (for spatially-resolved analysis) or chromatography (for speciation analysis). The reference below is recommended reading for beginners using ICP-QMS or those having samples analyzed by ICP-MS. Our laboratory features the X-Series 2 quadrupole. Details of this instrument can be found in the brochure link on this page. [Please provide URL]
